The New York Giants preseason is officially in the books, and in this episode of 2 Giants Goofballs, Drew and Rob deliver a complete breakdown of the best and worst Giants players of preseason according to PFF grades, the latest roster cuts, and a look at the franchise’s vintage and legacy uniforms returning in 2025. We’ll also react to ESPN’s Ben Solak ranking the Giants 22nd in “watchability” heading into the season.

On offense, the PFF grades highlight some surprising standouts. Bryan Hudson (90.1) topped the entire unit, followed by rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (84.7), veteran QB Russell Wilson (81.7), and depth names like Aaron Stinnie and Tommy DeVito. Meanwhile, the struggles of Evan Neal (48.2), Jon Runyan Jr. (47.7), and fullback Elijah Chatman (48.5) raise serious questions as the Giants prepare to finalize their 53-man roster.

Defensively, Cor’Dale Flott (92.3) led the team with an elite grade, while the pass rush duo of Brian Burns (83.9) and Trace Ford (83.6) look ready to dominate alongside Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter. But there were plenty of concerns on the defensive line, including poor grades for Jordon Riley (37.7) and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (50.2).

The hosts also cover the Giants’ recent roster moves. Jordan Bly, Zach Pascal, Montrell Washington, Jaison Williams, Jimmy Morrissey, Dyontae Johnson, K.J. Cloyd, O’Donnell Fortune, and K’Von Wallace have all been released, while TJ Moore was placed on IR after a brutal preseason-ending fibula injury. With the Tuesday cutdown deadline looming, these are just the first of many tough decisions for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll.

The show shifts gears to uniforms, as the Giants announce the return of vintage white throwbacks (11/9 vs Bears, 11/17 vs Packers) and legacy uniforms (11/12 vs 49ers, 12/14 vs Commanders) featuring the classic “GIANTS” helmet. Should New York bring that look back permanently?

Finally, we react to ESPN’s “watchability” rankings, where the Giants came in at 22nd. Ben Solak praised the defense, especially the pass rush led by Burns, Carter, and Thibodeaux, but questioned the entertainment value of Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers’ early usage. The Goofballs crew debates whether the Giants are truly “unwatchable” or poised to shock the NFL in 2025.
